Red Iguana

The Red Iguana is a color morph of the common Green Iguana (Iguana iguana), distinguished by its vibrant reddish or orange hue, especially along the head, body, and spikes. While not a separate species, red iguanas share the same biological traits as green iguanas, including their large size, often growing up to 1.5 to 2 meters (5 to 6.5 feet) in length. Native to tropical rainforests of Central and South America, they are herbivores, feeding on leaves, fruits, and flowers. Red iguanas are arboreal, often found in trees, and like their green counterparts, require extensive care when kept as pets due to their size, diet, and habitat needs. Their striking color makes them highly sought after in the pet trade.
