Berber Skink

The Berber Skink (Eumeces schneideri), also known as Schneider’s skink, is a medium-sized lizard native to North Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. It has a smooth, elongated body with shiny scales and typically grows to about 35-40 cm (14-16 inches). Its coloration ranges from sandy brown to golden yellow with dark, irregular markings along the back. Berber skinks are primarily ground-dwellers, preferring arid and semi-arid habitats like deserts and scrublands. They are omnivorous, feeding on insects, small invertebrates, and occasional plant material. Their docile nature and ease of care make them popular pets in the reptile-keeping community.
